I never thought I’d be a #plantlady. I always loved flowers, but I typically killed everything I touched as a child. For example, my grandmother gave me a plant that was ‘impossible’ to kill, and I killed that poor plant in less than two weeks. When I became a homeowner though, it all changed for me.
Landscaping was Ryan and I’s first love before we started renovating together. There is a nursery close to my Alma mater in Montevallo, Alabama. This family owned and operated nursery has a great selection of plants, knowledgeable staff, and southern charm. My loyalty knows no boundaries, I will drive 134 miles to shop at this nursery. That being said, we only go once a year now. We are actually going for our anniversary this year. Doesn’t that sound romantic? Probably not, but we really enjoy shopping for plants together.
Side Note: Cedar Creek Nursery’s plants are so hardy that all of the ones we transplanted from Alabama to Georgia survived.
I love a yard full of plants. Some of my favorites include drift roses, daylilies, hydrangeas, and hostas. I also enjoy creating different container arrangements. I love to include petunias and creeping jenny in about every arrangement I create for our home. I thought I’d share some photos of arrangements I’ve created in the past.
