4 Summer Projects to Complete

How was your weekend? Ryan and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary over the weekend. You guys, I have the most amazing husband! I can’t say that enough. We celebrated with Tim McGraw & Faith Hill Saturday night. Their Soul2Soul tour is absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend seeing it.

Today, I thought I would share our summer goals. We have really made quite a bit of progress outside, but we really need to get back inside to work on some things. Considering it’s super hot and humid, I don’t think we’ll miss working in the yard. I’m hoping we can accomplish these projects, outlined below, by September 22nd. That’s the first day of fall, and I really love fall! Honestly, I’d trade summer for fall any day.

Laundry Room Subway Tile

Have you ever had a project that just seems to go on for eternity? Our laundry room, without a doubt, is that sort of project. I stumbled across a picture this weekend and realized we really haven’t done anything since that photo was taken…two years ago. All that’s left to do is tile and trim. I have decided that we are going to hire a professional to handle the tile installation for us. I will be scheduling that after the 4th of July. Once the subway tile is up, Ryan and I can finish the trim work ourselves. I really can’t wait to reveal this space to you all. It’s one of my favorite rooms in our house!

Finish Implementing Landscape Plan

Now I know I said we need to work inside, but we do need to finish planting everything outside too. We’ve only got two beds left to complete before we can mark it off the list. In addition to planting, we need to adjust the existing flowerbed walls and install lattice around our porch.

Master Bedroom Trim & Paint

We have replaced all of the trim in our house, excluding our bedroom. It’s finally time to replace the baseboards and quarter round in there. We also want to repaint our bedroom and finish painting our closet. We renovated our closet last year, and there’s an inside wall that needs painting. We simply ran out of paint and never went back.

Install Guest Bedroom Sconces

I finally purchased the sconces for the guest bedroom, and we need to install those on either side of the bed. We really need a cooler day to complete this installation. Ryan will have to crawl into our attic, and it’s hot up there right now. This might be a project we finish right before my September 22nd deadline.

If by chance we knock these out in record time, I’d like to construct an island in my craft room. We have two cabinets that I’d like to use for this particular project. An island would be great for storage and wrapping. Have I mentioned I really love wrapping paper? We’ll discuss that more over the holiday season, which starts November 1st for me. Be sure to check back next month for details regarding Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments.

Until next time, have a great week!
