Ryan’s Den

You may recall that we converted our garage into usable living space last year. Part of that conversion included a den for Ryan. For details on that project, you canĀ click here. We’ve slowly been adding finishing details to this space. I was hoping it would be done by now, but life happens, which is a good thing most of the time. I thought I would share some of the progress we’ve made. It has made such a difference having this space!

Ryan has quite the artwork collection, and we really wanted that to be the focus in this space. The vibrant colors really make this a fun space to hang out in. We finally finished framing and hanging everything; however, we’re still looking for one more piece to complete the space.

We also added a matching side and coffee table. We purchased these from Room & Board last year. They are made of steel and painted a variety of colors to match any room. We selected yellow for obvious reasons. You can’t have a Peanuts themed space without lots of yellow! Not only was color an important factor, so was durability. These are great if you have pets that like to climb all over your furniture. I’ve really been quite pleased with these tables.

I also finished the pillows for this room, and I love these two fabrics together.

We’ve also added some new decor, including these hooks by the back door. Aren’t they cute?

You’re probably thinking…well what’s left? As you can see in the photo below, we’ve purchased cabinets for a bar. We need to frame that out and add a countertop so that we can actually use it.

The back door needs to be replaced in the spring, and I need to paint the closet doors. The baseboards also need painting, and we need to install StyleStix in this space. If you aren’t familiar with StyleStix, check out my postĀ here.

This has been such a fun space to create, but I’ll be glad when it’s done. What do you think? Would you want to chill in our new den? Stay tuned for more projects and reveals!
